Time : 21:00
Location : BITS Pilani – Hyderabad Campus
Details :
Performing live for the first time in India, BITS Pilani – Hyderabad Campus, in association with Unseen Underground, brings you Thurisaz, an immensely talented metal band from Belgium.

Four members of the band came together for the first time in 1997 to form a quartet. After being joined by a fifth member in 1999, they released their first album, Scent of a Dream was released in 2004, a sure sign that this was one band to look out for.

Their second album, Circardian Rhythm was critically acclaimed and established Thurisaz’s stance as a band with immense potential.

Only recently, their latest album, The Cimmerian Years has been released and the reviews have been nothing short of great.

It has been a tradition at BITS Pilani – Hyderabad Campus to bring in upcoming bands into the metal scene in India. Keeping up with the same, there is no doubt that Thurisaz will blow your minds away. Come this February, and you will have the opportunity to experience the concert of a lifetime. For first time head bangers, let me assure you, the energy and atmosphere is incomparable and you will enjoy the concert, even if you think that metal music is ‘not your thing’. There is nothing comparable to a fest atmosphere, and added to that a metal concert and you have everything you need for 80 hours of fun.

The event will be preceeded by the hugely popular semi-professional rock and metal band competition, Til’ Deaf Do We Part. This signature event of Pearl, has been established as one of the best in the country, and the winner will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to open for Thurisaz.

So, whether you are a music lover, metal head, or just someone looking to have a great time, there’s one thing that I can say – Be there!

Pearl 2012 @ BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus

Pearl. The name spells fun, activity, adventure and so much more! Pearl is the annual cultural festival of BITS Pilani – Hyderabad Campus. Started off in 2010 as a city-wide cultural festival, it was a huge hit amongst the college students in Hyderabad. In 2011, we decided to go national, and how! Not only did we take the entire nation by storm, it was for the first time that the Swedish melodic death metal band, Dark Tranquility, performed live in India. The concert saw fans from all across the nation, who had traveled to Hyderabad for this very purpose! The international act aside, the festival, apart from a set of amazing events, also included performances by the Pakistani band Strings, and a classical night by Anil Srinivasan, Sikkil Gurucharan and A.R.Rahman’s flutist, Navin Iyer.Pearl 2012, which is going to take place from February 16th to 19th, promises to be bigger and better than its previous editions. From the theme, World 1-2, which is essentially 8 bit and 16 bit games, to amazing events that span every cultural genre, we promise you 72 hours of non-stop fun and activity. Once again, for the first time in India, thanks to Unseen Underground, Thurisaz, a Belgian metal band is all set to enthrall Hyderabad during Pearl as part of the international act! For the Bollywood night, we have Benny Dayal and troupe performing. The prelims of our semi-pro band competition, Til’ Deaf Do We Part, which will be held in various cities across the country, will start soon. For the first time, by adding a new dimension to Pearl, we are introducing technical events for the engineer and the scientist in all of us!
