Ramanujan College brings to you its annual cultural festival ‘JOSH 2012’. Two days of amazing fun, frolic and art. Ramanujan College was formerly known as ‘Deshbandhu Evening’. Along with its name a lot of other things about the college have changed as well. The two day event will include art forms ranging from street theatre to rangoli making, from group dance to fashion show. Prizes of around Rs 1 lakh to be won.

ALGORHYTHM is an eclectic extravaganza organized by the Computer Society of India, Student Branch, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia. Pearl. The name spells fun, activity, adventure and so much more! Pearl is the annual cultural festival of BITS Pilani – Hyderabad Campus. Started off in 2010 as a city-wide cultural festival, it was a huge hit amongst the college students in Hyderabad. In 2011, we decided to go national, and how! Not only did we take the entire nation by storm, it was for the first time that the Swedish melodic death metal band, Dark Tranquility, performed live in India. The concert saw fans from all across the nation, who had traveled to Hyderabad for this very purpose! The international act aside, the festival, apart from a set of amazing events, also included performances by the Pakistani band Strings, and a classical night by Anil Srinivasan, Sikkil Gurucharan and A.R.Rahman’s flutist, Navin Iyer.Pearl 2012, which is going to take place from February 16th to 19th, promises to be bigger and better than its previous editions. From the theme, World 1-2, which is essentially 8 bit and 16 bit games, to amazing events that span every cultural genre, we promise you 72 hours of non-stop fun and activity. Once again, for the first time in India, thanks to Unseen Underground, Thurisaz, a Belgian metal band is all set to enthrall Hyderabad during Pearl as part of the international act! For the Bollywood night, we have Benny Dayal and troupe performing. The prelims of our semi-pro band competition, Til’ Deaf Do We Part, which will be held in various cities across the country, will start soon. For the first time, by adding a new dimension to Pearl, we are introducing technical events for the engineer and the scientist in all of us!

TACHYONS, The Physics Society, Kirori Mal College, is organizing its Academic Festival NEWTONIAN -2012, on the 15th and 16th ofFebruary 2012.

SPECTRUM 2012 is an inter – college science popularization festival organized by B.Sc. (Prog.) Department of Kirori Mal College on 9-10th February 2012 . Started years back, it includes events like seminars on science related topics, debate, paper presentation, graffiti, treasure hunt, etc. The addition of general quiz has added a cutting edge to the festival.

About a thousand students from all courses and city universities like JNU, IIT, JMI, FMS, CDE, etc. visit the fest with active participation from most of them as it is considered among the best few academic festivals of the university.

In its many years of existence, “SPECTRUM” has been largely successful in promoting scientific temper among the youth to a great extent. Over the years, it has invited renowned professors and scientist from different universities and institutes to hold talks and seminar related to science. Its events have been versatile enough to encourage participation from a variety of courses.

Aalap Tide of EternityAn academically oriented college like Bethune College also knows how to have fun too!! Presenting Aalap~Tides of Eternity 2011…The annual festival of the first Asian women’s college! AALAP, the Annual Inter College Competition, will be held on the 9th and 10th of December of this year, inviting colleges from all around West Bengal, including IIT Kharagpur.

The event, being, the highlight of the college’s social calendar is proud to host a wide variety of events where each one of you gets a chance to showcase your talent. The major ones include Band meet, Choreography, Colours of India (Fashion show), and a huge array of newly introduced events like Western duet, War of Rjs and Photography. At the end of the evening are some exciting pulse racing guest performances!! And this time, they are ‘celebrating music’!!!
The first day they have Bandage- the band formed by Mir, who is an extremely talented RJ and a VJ. On the second day, for the first time, in the history of Bethune, they have five bands performing!! Isn’t that just so great?! Featuring, country, jazz, blues and indie rock! They have Jason from Lochlomond, Ifs and Buts, V3, Raaj and friends and opening West End. All these bands hold a position on Reverbnation and are pretty much in demand in the circuit!!
